When designing warehousing racking, in addition to loading capacity, there are also some data that cannot be ignored. These data affect the layout and placement of racks, warehouse space utilization, rack turnover efficiency, and even safety. Let’s learn the following data.
1. Racking channel: The channel distance between shelves is closely related to the type of rack and the method of picking up goods. For example, the medium-sized and light-duty racking channels for manual picking are relatively narrow; ordinary Pallet racking requires a forklift channel of about 3.2-3.5 meters, while VNA racking only requires a forklift channel of about 1.6-2 meters.
2. The height of the warehouse: The height of the warehouse determines the height of racking. For example, a warehouse height below 4.5 meters is not suitable for mezzanine racking, otherwise the space will be very depressing. The higher the height of the warehouse, the greater the available vertical space, and the smaller the height limit for racking. You can try high-level racking, etc., which can improve the space utilization of the warehouse.
3. Fire hydrant position: When laying out the racks, the position of the fire hydrant in the warehouse must be considered, otherwise it will cause problems for the installation, and even after the installation is completed, it will not be approved by the fire department
4.Walls and Columns: The placement of walls and columns is also taken into consideration. Ordinary pallet racking can be placed in two groups back to back in locations without walls, but can only be placed in a single row in locations with walls, otherwise it will affect the convenience of picking up goods.
5. Warehouse lamps: The height of the lamps cannot be ignored, because the lamps will emit heat during operation. If they are too close to the racking, there is a safety hazard of fire.
